Romanus

A firm reminder of baby’s heritage or a proud nod from history buffs to the Roman Empire, Romanus certainly captures the ear. A masculine title of Latin origin, Romanus means “Roman” or “from Rome.” Romanus is a variation of Roman, which may have come from the Etruscan rumon, an ancient name for the Tiber River. Roman could also derive from Romulus, one of the legendary founders of the city of Rome. Romanus enhances Roman’s classical nature with its -us suffix, giving baby an extra dash of timeless prestige.
