Myrline

Myrline is a feminine name of Old French origin and a variant of the gender-neutral Merle, meaning "blackbird." The Latin term merula, also meaning blackbird, gave rise to several similar names, such as Merrill and Muriel. Myrline and Merle have laid somewhat dormant recently, with Merle Tottenham being a recent famous name. Her work on the original West End production of Noël Coward's Cavalcade in 1931 led to her reprising her role as Annie in the subsequent Hollywood film. With blackbirds and the sound of their song being omnipresent, it is time for Myrline to follow suit.
