Jormungandr
yor-man-gund-ur
Origin:Norse
Meaning:Great, large; Monster, magic, wand
Jormungandr is known as the "world serpent" in Norse mythology. Somewhat surprisingly, this serpent is the powerful offspring of Loki and Angrboða. As the god of trickery, it's not wholly surprising, but if you consider God of War timelines, it might be a little mind-bending. (Here comes a spoiler for the 2018 hit!) With Atreus' identity being uncovered as Loki, with Angrboða in the sequel game, and the fact that the player has already met Jormungandr intimately, this name is representative of a constantly unraveling and unfathomable journey!
