Giordano

Giordano is a boy’s name of Italian origin. Coming from the popular Hebrew name Jordan, borrowed from the expression yarad, it means to “descend” or “flow down,” most likely alluding to the Jordan River, which runs through northern Israel before entering the Dead Sea. The name Giordano may also draw inspiration from the Latin name Jordanes, which is said to spring from the Germanic root eorþe, meaning “earth” or “soil.” It doesn’t get any more down-to-earth than this!
