Woman Charged After Pouring Water on Baby as 'Payback for Waking Me Up'
Caitlin Hardy has a lot of new enemies, and rightfully so.
The 33-year-old posted a sadistic video of herself pouring water onto a 9-month-old baby girl who was asleep in her crib. Startling the baby from her slumber, Hardy then poured more water onto the coughing child.
“Payback for waking me up all kinda times of [the] night,” she wrote in the caption of the video posted to Facebook, according to PEOPLE.
While the post is no longer available to the public, screenshots have been circulating online (Warning: graphic photos below).
After seeing the video, many alerted the Sumter County South Carolina Sheriff’s Office. When questioned, Hardy told investigators “she was joking or playing a game with the baby,” PEOPLE reports.
Luckily, the little girl was okay. As for Hardy, she was charged with cruelty to children.
“Hardy did cause ill treatment, unnecessary pain and suffering and/or deprivation of necessary sustenance upon a female minor child,” the sheriff’s office’s news release reads. “Hardy did pour a bottle of water on a 9-month-old female infant while the infant was sleeping. After being poured with water the second time, the infant woke up coughing.”
