NFL Star Trevor Lawrence and Wife Marissa Welcome 10-Pound Baby Girl
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is officially a dad!
The NFL star, who made a name for himself as the quarterback who carried Clemson University to a championship in 2019, shared the arrival of his first child with high school sweetheart Marissa Lawrence on January 6. “Shae Lynn Lawrence. Born 1/4/25 at 4:01 am. 10 pounds 2 oz. Mommy and daddy love you so much!!! Thank you Jesus for our girl,” the couple captioned a carousel of photos with their newborn.
While the Lawrences haven’t yet shared the inspiration behind Shae’s name, the gender-neutral moniker of Irish and Gaelic origin is traditionally associated with meanings like “favorable” or “stately.” In the comments, friends and fans gushed over baby Shae’s full head of hair and praised Marissa for carrying her 10-pound bundle of joy. “Oh my goodness, big girl! You did amazing, mama,” wrote influencer McCall Gilbert. “She’s perfect! Congratulations to you both,” chimed in Allison Kuch.
The couple first revealed their pregnancy news in June 2024, with Marissa captioning their maternity photos simply, “A little Lawrence on the way.” The intimate shoot, taken at home, featured Marissa in a casual bump-baring gray tank and jeans, while Trevor opted for a white tee and black pants. The couple’s beloved dogs, Indie and Jones, even made a cameo alongside ultrasound images.
Friends, fans and other football players were quick to congratulate the couple on their happy news. “Join the party! So happy for yall man,” added soon-to-be dad of two and former Clemson running back Darien Rencher. “Best collaboration I’ve ever seen,” wrote a fan. “I can’t wait to meet the newest member of our fam jam! Gonna be the most perfect little baby. I already love them so much,” added Marissa’s sister, Miranda Mowry.
Trevor and Marissa met while both students at Cartersville High School in Georgia. They started dating in 2016 and attended prom together. Their relationship continued through their college years, with Marissa attending Anderson University, where she played soccer, while Trevor was at Clemson University. The two got engaged in July 2020 at Clemson Memorial Stadium and ultimately tied the knot on April 10, 2021.
Our congratulations to the growing Lawrence family!
