Why is Trader Joe’s recalling their Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings?
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA), CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont Corporation has recalled around 61,839 pounds of Trader Joe’s steamed chicken soup dumpling products that may be contaminated with foreign materials, specifically hard plastic from a permanent marker pen.
The problem was discovered after several consumers filed complaints that they found hard plastic in Trader Joe’s steamed chicken soup dumplings. No injuries or adverse reactions have been reported.
How do I know if my product is affected?
The affected steamed chicken soup dumplings were produced on December 7, 2023, and shipped to Trader Joe’s locations nationwide. Six-ounce boxes with plastic trays containing six pieces of “TRADER JOE’S Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings” with lot codes “03.07.25.C1-1” and “03.07.25.C1-2” printed on the side of the box are included in the recall. Products subject to recall also bear establishment number “P-46009” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
