The Office Is Back With Another Children’s Book and It’s Incredible
There are few things as iconic as the theme song from hit comedy sitcom The Office (you hear it in your head now, don’t you?). While several fans were disappointed when the NBC show ended after a nine-season run from 2005 to 2013, The Office is making a comeback—in the form of a children’s book—and getting ready for a whole new generation of fans.
The book, titled The Office: A Day at Dunder Mifflin Elementary was announced this week in honor of The Office’s 15th anniversary. It will tell the story of young Michael Scott as he aspires to become the “World’s Best Line Leader,” while kid forms of the rest of the Dunder Mifflin team—Dwight, Jim, Pam, Stanley, Phyllis, Meredith, Ryan, and Toby—will make up the rest of the class.
Written by Robb Pearlman and illustrated by Melanie Demmer, the book’s target audience is children aged 4 to 8. However, with hidden gems that allude to the original series, parents will probably enjoy it just as much.
The Office: A Day at Dunder Mifflin Elementary isn’t the first children’s book inspired by the show. Fun at the Office by Mark Cloud, a self-publisher from Southern California, was released last year and follows some of the show’s most memorable moments.
The Office: A Day at Dunder Mifflin Elementary is set to be released on October 6, but is available for pre-order now.
