Target’s Breastfeeding-Friendly Stores Are Yet Another Excuse to Go Shopping

The love affair moms have with Target is no secret. Can you blame them? You can shop all your needs in one place, and they show lots of love to their loyal mamas. Win-win. A note from a Target in Weatherford, Texas proves just that, which is probably why it has gone viral on the Facebook page Breastfeeding Mama Talk.

“At Target, you are free to nurse wherever and whenever you like while you shop because we think #MomsRock,” the letter reads.

Although Target is a breastfeeding-friendly spot, it also wants to make sure it has all the amenities it needs for moms who may not want to nurse their baby in public, or would simply prefer a cozy spot to do so. Enter: the Nursing Rooms.

“If you would like a comfy (or more private) spot to nurse or change a diaper, please ask our fitting room attendant about our Nursing Room. A peaceful spot to take a break during your Target run—and it’s even stocked with some free goodies to make your and baby’s time there even sweeter.”

Target first unveiled its dedicated space for nursing moms back in 2017. Since then, it’s been working hard to remodel its multiple locations, with plans to remodel or build 1,000 stores equipped with the space by next year.

In the words of Target, “happy nursing and happy shopping!”
