Target Recalls 25,000 Packages of Baby Food Due to Lead Concerns
Target is an easy go-to for everything families need from a new throw blanket and school supplies to groceries and games. But if your pantry includes Good & Gather baby food from Target, it’s time to double-check the label.
Target has voluntarily recalled 25,600 units of its Good & Gather Baby Pea, Zucchini, Kale & Thyme Vegetable Puree due to concerns over elevated levels of lead. The affected products come in 4-ounce tubs and are intended for babies six months and older. The recall specifically involves lot numbers 4167 and 4169, with best-by dates of December 7 and December 9, 2025, respectively, and UPC code 1 91907-99314 1.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified this as a Class II recall, indicating that while serious health consequences are unlikely, the product could still cause temporary or reversible health issues. Lead exposure is particularly harmful to infants and young children, potentially leading to developmental delays and neurological damage.
Target has removed the affected products from store shelves and is offering full refunds for any recalled baby food. If you have one of the recalled items at home, you can bring it back to any Target location, no receipt needed. For questions or concerns, Target Guest Relations is available at (800) 440-0680 to help. If your little one may have eaten the recalled puree, it’s always a good idea to check in with your pediatrician for peace of mind.
