Singer, actress, and model Suki Waterhouse recently shared her experiences with early motherhood in a candid interview with British Vogue. Having welcomed her first daughter just three months ago, Waterhouse described her journey into motherhood as “shocking in every way.”

Waterhouse detailed the challenging realization that her newborn needed to be breastfed every two hours. “I was alarmed in the hospital when they kept waking me up,” she said. “I was like, ‘Excuse me? Is this what this entails?’” She also touched on another relatable experience for new moms: adapting to her postpartum body. “I definitely think, ‘Oh, I’m shooting the cover of Vogue and I’m 25 pounds heavier than I normally am right now,’ but it’s also like, ‘Who gives a f***?’ It is what it is.” She added with a laugh, “The boobs are so fun.”

The Daisy Jones and The Six actress hasn’t been alone in her transition to motherhood. Waterhouse detailed her husband Robert Pattinson’s support, alongside a fantastic rap playlist, for getting her through labor. “He was there with me and like all dads, he was really nervous,” she shared. “But for someone who’s quite an anxious person, he’s been very calm.” Waterhouse’s admiration for Pattinson was clear as she described him as “the dad I could have hoped for. I mean a dad and his daughter? It’s an actual love story.”

Outside of this interview with British Vogue, the happy couple have kept much of their journey to parenthood and the arrival of their daughter underwraps. The two were spotted in May 2024 walking around Los Angeles with a pink and black stroller in tow according to images obtained by The Daily Mail. but never confirmed their daughter’s arrival till now.

Waterhouse first revealed her pregnancy on stage during a performance at the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico. “I’m extra sparkly today because I thought it might distract you from something else that’s going on,” Waterhouse cheekily said in a fan-captured video posted on X (formerly Twitter). Dress in a glitter pink mini dress with sparkling boots, Waterhouse later flipped open her feathery coat to reveal her baby bump, jokingly adding, “I’m not sure if it’s working.”

In an interview with The Sunday Times in February 2023, Waterhouse opened up about her long-term relationship with Pattinson, saying that she was "shocked” to be so happy with someone for nearly five years, adding that she still gets “incredibly excited” when Pattinson’s name pops up on her phone. “I think he feels the same about me,” she noted. “We’ve always got so much to say, and I find him hilarious.”

Our congratulations to Waterhouse and Pattinson on their new addition.
