Sports Illustrated Model Shows Off Her Stretch Marks: ‘I Earned Them’
This supermodel didn’t freak out when she developed stretch marks. In fact, she made it a point to document them.
“They are some bad ass #tigerstripes. And I earned them,” Robyn Lawley, a Sports Illustrated model, writes on Facebook. Lawley, 26, is mom to 8-month-old daughter Ripley.
“I knew [my stretch marks] were coming and as they’re fading into white (like all my others) I thought I might capture them,” she said, sharing a photo of herself.
The message? Just like Jessie James Decker, this model wants you to know it’s okay not to be perfect post-baby.
“To anyone who feels bad about your body especially after a baby, you are a warrior, you created a life inside of you, that’s no easy feat.”
More and more moms are being honest about what postpartum really looks like. Still, motherhood (and stretch marks) hasn’t put the brakes on Lawley’s modeling career. You’ll be able to spot her in the Sports Illustrated 2016 calendar.
