Preschooler Locks Dad Out of His IPad for 49 Years
You can blink your eyes for a second and your tiny tot will already have snatched your iPad and covered the screen with their messy little fingerprints. But Evan Osnos would have gladly taken a dirty iPad over his current situation. After his 3-year-old tried to unlock his iPad multiple times, the dad was alerted that the tablet was disabled for 25 million minutes, or roughly 49 years.
“Uh, this looks fake but, alas, it’s our iPad today after 3-year-old tried (repeatedly) to unlock,” the dad says on Twitter.
Osnos is in a real pickle. If the official Apple instructions hold true, entering the wrong password multiple times erases an iPad’s content. “Locking yourself out of your iOS device and retrying with the wrong password too many times leads to permanent removal of data from the device,” the website reads. “Data on the device will no longer be available, and you’ll need to erase your device.”
As they say, misery loves company, and a handful of other parents who’ve been there, done that couldn’t help but share their woes with the dad.
