These NICU Babies Are Ready for Today's Total Solar Eclipse
Today, a rare total solar eclipse is captivating our skies. As the moon crosses paths with the sun, cities like Cleveland, directly in the eclipse’s trajectory, will experience an extraordinary moment of daytime darkness. To mark the special occasion, Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital is bringing light to the families of NICU babies by dressing up its littlest residents.
“Our babies in the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are prepping for the solar eclipse on April 8!” the medical center wrote in an Instagram post. “While it’ll be about two decades before we experience another total solar eclipse in the United States, these newborns will be 75 years old the next time we see another total solar eclipse in Ohio!”
In the hospital’s Reel, little ones don eclipse glasses and total eclipse onesies. “Can’t believe it will be in 2099! That’s wild so definitely helps you appreciate this once-in-a-lifetime event,” wrote one follower in the comments. “I have a special place in my heart for the NICU nurses at the clinic. Almost 21 years ago they took the most outstanding care of my girls,” added another mother in gratitude to the nurses.
We send our best wishes to these little ones on this big day!
