Pregnant Model Walks New York Fashion Week Runway, Goes Into Labor Backstage
Model Slick Woods stole the show at Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty fashion show, where she strutted across the runway sporting a very pregnant baby bump. As if that wasn’t already an impressive feat, after the 22-year-old turned heads wearing the high-end lingerie collection, she then went into labor backstage, TMZ reports. Now, that is how you get the job done.
Woods was one of two pregnant women featured in the New York Fashion Week (NYFW) show on Wednesday night. The fearless model previously told Elle UK she was due in September, which means she walked the runway while she was seemingly nine months pregnant.
The Fenty Beauty brand shared a fierce photo of its group of models, giving a congratulatory shoutout to Slick Woods and her new baby boy, Saphir.
“Congrats to our sis @slickwoods and baby Saphir who both killed it in #DiamondsBomb all the way down the #NYFW @savagexfenty runway,” the caption reads.
As expected, many are in awe of Woods, and they’ve taken to social media to praise the model.
The story is a cherry on top of a much more inclusive NYFW, where model Lily Aldridge also made headlines when she walked the runway five months pregnant. And although these stories are pretty impressive, each pregnancy is different. Every woman needs to decide when to stop working during pregnancy based on what is best for her.
