Disney Channel Alum Skai Jackson Welcomes Her First Child
Skai Jackson is officially a mom!
The Disney Channel alum, known for her roles in Jessie and Big Boss, announced the arrival of her first child on January 26. Sharing the exciting news with her fans, Jackson posted a heartwarming photo of her holding her newborn’s hands, simply captioned “Kasai.” The pair donned cozy, matching green pajamas. Kasai, an element-inspired name of Japanese origin traditionally means “fire.”
From Keke Palmer to Holly Peete, several friends, fans and fellow actors rushed to send their love and congratulate the new mom in the comments. “Omg Congratulations on this whole new mommy chapter of your life! You are going to be an amazing mom,” wrote internet personality Monique Carrillo. Jackson’s mom, Kiya Cole, also shared her excitement, commenting, “My little Kasai is the cutest.”
Jackson first revealed her pregnancy on November 12. “I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter in my life — embracing motherhood and diving into new acting projects. My heart is so full!” Jackson told People.
Jackson is worked throughout her pregnancy, traveling to promote her new movie The Man in The White Van. Her dedication and drive are inspired by her mother, who was also an actress and raised Jackson as a single mom. "[My mom] always taught me to stand up for myself, stand up for what I believe in and fight for what is right,” she previously told People. “I thank her for that because without her, I probably wouldn’t have a lot of the confidence that I do now.”
