Shemar Moore Shares First Photo of His Daughter and Confirms Her Name

Actor Shemar Moore is a proud girl dad!

The S.W.A.T actor took to Instagram last night to share a the first photo of his daughter and details of her birth with the world. “FRANKIE MOORE!!! BABY GIRL in da building!!! Born January 24… at 3:38pm…. 7.1 Pounds… 20 inches…. 10 fingers n 10 toes…,” Moore joked, adding, “Already the love of my life! I’m a Girl Daddy! HOLY S—T! DREAMS COME TRUE!!”

Moore and his partner Jesiree Dizon previously floated the idea of naming their baby Frankie—if they had a girl— at their sex reveal party. Frankie, a gender-neutral name of Latin origin meaning “free” or “truthful.” The name has seen a major rise in popularity over the past 10 years particularly among girls.

Dixon and Moore first announced the birth of their child yesterday on Instagram yesterday. Frankie arrived just a short two weeks before her expected due date. “The family is very happy and healthy,” a representative for Moore told People.

The former Criminal Minds star also shared the good news on his Instagram page with the caption, “Ya boy is officially a Dad! Dreams come true! The rest of my life is here!”

Shemar Moore Explains Significance Behind Baby’s Expected Due Date

Shemar Moore was originally expecting his first child on a very special day.

Moore sat down with Jennifer Hudson earlier this month to announce his upcoming role as Dad. “I’m Shemar Moore, 52½ years old. My mother is in heaven, right now it’ll be the three-year anniversary on February 8,” he shared. “And on February 8, I’m going to make one of her dreams come true because, in real life, Shemar Moore is about to be a daddy.”

The actor went on to talk about how being a Dad was certainly going to be “the best part of my life” and how beautiful it is to be able to share this moment in some way with his mother, Marilyn Wilson Moore, who passed away on February 8, 2020. “I’m so excited. I’m sorry she can’t be here. I was worried for a while that it was a ‘that ship has sailed,’ kind of thing but God had my back and things lined up,” he said.

Shortly after his announcement on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Moore and mom-to-be Jesiree Dizon shared the happy news on Instagram with a video from the couple’s sex reveal party. “Mama’s smiling from Heaven…Miracles happen…Here comes the BEST part of my life,” he captioned the post.

In the video Dizon, Moore and guests prepare to learn whether the new addition will be a girl or boy. While Dizon is on team girl, Moore simply says he’ll be happy as long as it’s healthy and has 10 fingers and 10 toes. “It’s either going to be Legend, little homie, or it’s going to be Frankie, little baby girl," he added. As the guests excitedly waited, a helicopter flew over with their answer in pink smoke—It’s a girl!
