Sesame Street Will Help Explain COVID-19 to Kids in Special Town Hall
Talking to children about COVID-19 can be really hard. Though they may feel scared and anxious and have an inkling that something is off, depending on their age they may not fully be able to understand why. Now, CNN and Sesame Street are partnering up to help.
On Saturday, April 25 at 9 am EST, CNN will be hosting a special town hall that focuses on COVID-19 and how it may be affecting education, anxiety, screen time and playdates. The special, called “The ABC’s of Covid 19: A CNN/Sesame Street Town Hall for Kids and Parents” will last for 90 minutes and be moderated by Big Bird, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN chief medical correspondent, and Erica Hill, CNN anchor and national correspondent.
As part of the special, experts and other Sesame Street characters, including Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Rosita and Grover, will also answer questions submitted by families using this questionnaire.
The special will air on CNN, CNN International and CNN en Español, as well as live on the CNN.com homepage and across other CNN platforms, including apps and the CNNgo streaming service.
Sesame Street has been doing its part to help families during this time. Recently, the company launched its Caring for Each Other initiative and has been consistently putting out messages of hope and positivity to help families get through the lockdown.
