Serena Williams Says She Traded a Living Room for a Playroom and Every Parent Can Relate
Ever since Serena Williams joined the mom club, she hasn’t shied away from difficult topics. And with every passing day, she proves to be even more relatable than we already thought.
Her recent Instagram post shows how her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., wears the pants in her home. Standing with her arms up in surrender, Williams accepts what was once her living room, has transformed into her daughter’s playroom.
“Sometimes I have to throw my hands up in the air. #ThisMama used to have a living room. Now I just have a playroom. When did that happen,” the athlete and mom jokingly asks.
To no surprise at all, many parents can relate, and they’ve taken to her post to share their sentiments.
“The struggle is real. I pick up toys and clothes all day! They run the place. Hang in their lady,” one message reads.
“Same! I have a six-month-old, and before she arrived, I told myself I would never have a living room full of clutter and toys. I love clean lines and open spaces, but sadly that is not our life,” another agrees.
“I use to have a decent adult home, but once the kids came, toys, clothes, books and sippy cups are e-ve-ry-where,” a mom relates.
One message says it all: Welcome to mamahood! But it is the most satisfying journey of being a woman!”
