Savannah Guthrie's Toddler Expertly Negotiates for Ice Cream on a 'Hot, Hot Day'
Although Savannah Guthrie’s daughter may be only 4-years-old, as it turns out, she is quite the negotiator.
In a too-cute video, Vale, the Today co-host’s toddler, lays sprawled out on the floor sporting a pink tutu, because, why not? Throughout the clip, she argues her point on why her famous mom needs to give her ice cream. And to be be honest, the kid makes a pretty good case.
“Who among us has not laid on the floor in a tutu and negotiated for ice cream on a ‘hot, hot day,’” Guthrie says in a tweet where she shares the adorable interaction.
“Can I get ice cream today, because it’s a hot, hot day,” the toddler asks her mom. She then continues to support her argument, reinstating just how hot it is outside, and using exaggerated hand gestures to get her point across.
“There’s steam coming out from the swing park,” Vale explains. “And it’s hot and it’s sunny all around.”
After she masterfully bats her eyelashes and pauses for a seemingly dramatic effect, she begs again, this time adding in a, “please, please.”
To seal the deal, the wise little girl sweetly adds, “and I want to sit with you and have ice cream together.”
The ingenious strategy worked, according to a follow-up tweet from Guthrie. Can you blame her?
When it comes to toddlers, there’s no filter. The youngsters say what is on their minds, which makes for some pretty silly conversations—just like this one with Vale. If you really want a laugh, just hear what some toddlers have to say about babies.
