Olympian Sanya Richards-Ross and Aaron Ross Are Expecting Baby No. 3
Four-time Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross is has big news!
The reality TV star took to social media to celebrate her upcoming 40th birthday with an even bigger announcement: she’s pregnant with her third child. “40 + 1. I knew this birthday would be special, but this was A LOT more than I could have imagined,” she captioned her post. “On this birthday and my 15 YEAR ANNIVERSARY… @rossboy31 and I will be adding one more little prince or princess to our crew. My birthday and anniversary are actually on the 26th, but we’re celebrating today so let’s just pretend haha. Love y’all. I’m about to be a Mommi of Three—Ahh!”
The content queen kept the excitement going, following up with a playful nod to Kendrick Lamar’s iconic halftime show and a sneak peek at her gender reveal. “POV: Having a baby at 40. Ready to be a mom of THREE with my incredible village right beside me,” she captioned the video.
Friends and fans quickly filled the comments with love for the soon-to-be mom of three. “Look at you BEAUTIFULLY BUMPING… 40 and Fabulous,” publicist Kita Williams gushed. “Congratulations beautiful and welcome to the ‘we’ve officially lost control’ club!” added content creator Askale Davis. Former British Olympian and Track & Field star Katharine Merry chimed in too, saying, “So exciting! Fellow Olympic medalists here in the UK have 3 boys! Iwan Thomas and Sally Gunnell have a 4x400 squad, but… I’m going for a girl!”
Richards-Ross is no stranger to making a memorable announcement. She revealed her second pregnancy during the mid-season trailer for season 15 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. In the video, Richards-Ross casually hands her husband, Aaron Ross, a positive pregnancy test. After taking a closer look, the former NFL cornerback exclaimed, “No way! This is real?” to which Richards-Ross nodded, jumping up and down, cheering, “I’m pregnant!” while embracing everyone in the room. The couple later welcomed their son, Asani, in December 2023.
The Rosses first became parents in August 2017 when they welcomed their son, Aaron Jermaine, now 7. After his birth, they took their time before deciding to grow their family again. In a interview with The Bump Richards-Ross talked about her time with The Real Housewives of Atlanta and the response from fans after opening up about not wanting another baby at first due to the overwhelming workload she experienced the first time around.
“I shared my story of struggling to want to have another child, and I was pleasantly surprised by the response from women all around the world who reached out and shared how they appreciated me talking about this. And it’s a hard thing to talk about. It feels like a very selfish thing, but it’s not. I think it’s very mature to know what your capacity is and to be brave enough to stand in that truth,” she shared.
As the founder of the nonprofit community MommiNation, Richards-Ross continues to champion sisterhood and support. She’s grateful for the overwhelming encouragement from her castmates and fans, noting, “They want me to be pregnant more than I want to be pregnant. I just love that because that’s what real sisterhood is all about.”
