Olympic Swimmer Ryan Lochte and Kayla Lochte Welcome Baby No. 3

Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte has added another little one to his family!

The six-time Olympic gold medalist and his wife Kayla posted a photo of their new addition to Instagram on June 22. The couple shared their third child’s name, due date and birth details in the caption. “Georgia June Lochte. 8 pounds of perfection. 6•21•23. Thank you God for another miracle of life,” the couple wrote.

The name Georgia has risen in popularity among girls since the 90s and comes from the Greek word Georgios meaning “farmer” or “earth-worker.” More commonly, Georgia is used in reference to the popular peach state or by travel-loving parents who may have taken inspiration from the European country. Kayla told US Weekly that June is a play on the timing of her birth and a family member.

“[We’re] thrilled. We are so excited,” the model said. “Ryan is such a great dad; I can’t wait to see him as a father to 3. He’s so great with kids in general, they always gravitate towards him. I am excited as well, [but] I am more of the worrier, the strict one, the not-as-fun parent, let’s just say. It makes for a good balance," she said.

The Lochtes initially shared the fact that they were expecting baby number three with fans on Instagram on December 9. “Lochte baby #3 on the way, in June again, of course,” the duo captioned their family photo. Georgia’s older siblings, Liv Rae, 3 and Caiden Zane, 4, were both born in June as well.
