This Artist Brilliantly Reimagines Disney Princesses as Moms

Russian artist Oksana Pashchenko is giving viewers a taste of what Disney princesses’ lives might look like in their happily ever after.

She started her drawing two years ago, imagining how the next stage of these princesses’ lives might look. Her inspiration for the series came after she became a mom herself. “My pregnancy served as inspiration. I now have been on maternity leave for two years and devote myself to drawing and I thought, why not make the Disney princesses as a continuation of the happy ending to the fairy tale?” she told Today Parents. “I like to draw the theme of children, love, motherhood and so on because I am now going through these stages in my life.”

She’s been sharing her creations on Instagram (@goldoxi21), which has over 60,000 followers, including the next stages for princesses Ariel, Belle, Jasmine and many more.

She shows pregnant Ariel in a black evening gown that displays her baby bump next to Prince Eric. As a mom, she’s shown with her daughter Melody, who has dark brown hair and is wearing an adorable Flounder suit.

Belle, meanwhile, shows off her bump with a blue gown, posing as one would for a maternity shoot. Her daughter’s dress seems to be designed in the same pattern as the china and her rattle toy features a mini Chip.

She shows Jasmine taking an adorable maternity picture with Aladdin, in which their “bumps” are touching. She’s then shown a few years later with her son, dressed up as Rajah, their pet tiger.

Also featured in the series are Tiana and Naveen from The Princess and the Frog, who take their maternity picture in Jackson Square in front of the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. She’s later drawn with her daughter, who wears matching yellow bows in her hair.
