Real Housewives' Rachel Fuda Welcomes Baby No. 4
Hold onto your high heels, Housewives fans—Rachel Fuda’s newest bundle of joy is here and ready to steal the spotlight!
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star and her husband, John Fuda, welcomed their second boy and sixth member to their family on February 19. “With the birth of our last baby, our family has grown into everything we ever dreamed — a beautiful circle of six hearts, bound by love, laughter, and the journey we’ve shared. This little soul is our final piece, the sweetest ending to a chapter of beginnings, and the start of a lifetime of cherished moments together,” Rachel told People. “Our hearts are fuller, our home is brighter — our baby boy is here, and I am so grateful to be a mother again.”
The couple’s new addition is named Lorenzo Antonio Fuda, in both a nod to nature and beloved family members. Lorenzo, a boy’s name of Latin, Italian and Spanish roots, loosely translates to “from the town of bay trees,” a symbol of growth and victory. Baby Lorenzo’s middle name Antonio is in honor of Rachel’s late grandmother Anna Del Vescovo as well as John’s grandma Ida Fuda, who worshipped St. Anthony, the couple shared. Lorenzo Antonio shares more than just a family name too, he was also born on the same day as John’s grandfather Joseph Fuda, the patriarch of the Fuda family.
Fuda first shared the big news she was expecting on the season 14 Off The Rails special of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. “When I was a little girl, I dreamt of my life as a mother, filling my future home with family and love. I’m forever grateful to God for allowing me to live my dream every day. With full hearts, we are counting our many blessings as we excitedly anticipate becoming a family of 6,” she captioned an Instagram video sharing the big news. Dressed in white and khaki, the Fuda Family played along the beach and held up a “Coming Soon…” onesie and letterboard.
“John and I always felt like our family wasn’t complete. We actually have a table in my kitchen and when we sit down for dinner, there’s one empty chair. And we always kind of looked at each other like, ‘Oh, it’d be nice to fill that seat,’” Fuda told People. “So we always had room for one more in our home and in our hearts, and we’re both just so happy to be welcoming another baby into the family. It felt like it was time."
Fuda conceived baby Lorenzo through the same IVF process she used to welcome her daughters Gianella, 4 and Giuliana, 2. “I thought, ‘This is my last shot. If this doesn’t work, we’re done,’" she said. "Because, first of all, it costs a lot of money. But second of all, you’re on all these medications that just throw your body off. I was hormonal, breaking out so bad, tired and on edge; my mood was going up, down, up, down. I just felt like, ‘I can’t do this anymore.’”
Thankfully before long, Fuda had good news to share with her family. “The girls are over the top," she said when asked how they feel about their new baby brother. "They’re talking to my belly like, ‘Hi, I’m your big sister!’ Gigi’s like, ‘Mommy, I’m going to be your little helper. Anything you need, I’ll help you.’ It’s really sweet to see.”
Her 17-year-old adopted son Jaiden (from her husband John’s last relationship) is also excited for a new sibling. “He’s such a family kid," Fudo said. “I know there’s a big age gap, but he loves to hang out with the kids; he and his girlfriend, they’ll actually come play with the kids for hours just to spend time with them. He loves being a big brother.”
“There’s truly no better feeling in the world than having kids,” she said. “It’s almost a type of love that you just can’t explain. Like, these little people make me a better person. They teach me every day. I’ve learned to slow down and just enjoy the small moments in life, like cuddling on the couch and reading a book together. And it keeps me grounded, because they remind me of what actually matters. They are my peace in this world amid the craziness.”
