Princess Beatrice and Husband Have Welcomed Their First Child Together
Princess Beatrice is a mom!
She and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. The name was announced on The Royal Family’s Instagram account on Friday, October 1. “We are all doing well and Wolfie is the best big brother to Sienna,” the couple said.
Buckingham Palace announced Sienna’s arrival on Monday, September 20. “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London. The baby weighs 6 pounds and 2 ounces," the palace stated. "The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news. The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf.”
This is the first child for Beatrice, second for Mozzi—who shares a son, “Wolfie,” with his ex, Dara Huang—and the 12th great-grandchild for Queen Elizabeth II.
Beatrice also shared the update to Twitter, writing, “So delighted to share the news of the safe arrival of our daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London. Thank you to the Midwife team and everyone at the hospital for their wonderful care.”
The couple first announced their pregnancy news in May. “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year,” Buckingham Palace announced on May 19.
The couple got engaged in September 2019 and married in July 2020 in a smaller ceremony than previously anticipated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11 a.m. on Friday 17th July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor,” Buckingham Palace announced at the time. “The small ceremony was attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and close family. The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant Government Guidelines.”
Congratulations to the growing family!
