Happy birthday, Prince Louis! The royal toddler is turning two today on April 23, and to celebrate Kensington Palace is sharing some beautiful new images of him on their official social media accounts.
The photos, taken by his mom, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, show Prince Louis, who is fifth in line for the British throne, playing with a rainbow of colors of paint.
It’s hard to believe how quickly he’s growing up! In the past year, royal watchers have seen the toddlers’ first public steps during photos from a royal visit to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, as well as heard the story behind his first word, Mary. (The former Kate Middleton revealed that Mary Berry’s cookbooks are right at his height on the kitchen bookshelf, so he had come to recognize the celebrity chef.) And, just last month, Prince Louis adorably joined his siblings to applaud healthcare workers fighting the ongoing pandemic.
Of course, the Duchess of Cambridge has also proven herself to be quite the royal photographer. Over the past few years, she’s regularly taken photos of her children for the public, including the first official photos of Prince Louis—one of which shows him as a newborn being held by his big sister, then 3-year-old Princess Charlotte—that were released, as well as the photos that were released ahead of his first birthday last year.
Prince Louis’ is the first in a line of upcoming royal birthdays. His older sister Charlotte is turning 5 on May 2 and his cousin Archie is turning one on May 6.
