Pregnant Bindi Irwin Reveals She’s Expecting a Baby Girl

Bindi Irwin is pregnant with a girl!

The conservationist and daughter of the late Steve Irwin announced she and husband Chandler Powell, 23, were expecting a baby girl earlier this week on Instagram. Irwin, 22, shared a photo of herself and Powell alongside an Aldabra tortoise and holding up a sonogram.

“Baby girl, you are our world,” she wrote in the caption. “Our beautiful daughter is now about the same size as a hatchling Aldabra tortoise and is as healthy as can be. We can’t wait for her arrival next year.”

Powell also shared the news on his Instagram account with the same image. “Our little girl and my beautiful wife are my entire world," he wrote in the caption. “I’m so excited to meet our daughter when she’s born next year and to see the incredible person she will grow up to be.”

The couple first announced the pregnancy on their social media in August and have been documenting it on Instagram since. In the past few weeks, Irwin has been candid about the transformation.

“Discovering that I was going to become a mother will forever be a moment where time stood still. I took a test and ran into the kitchen where Chandler was making us tea. He didn’t hear me come in so I speechlessly watched him pouring the water into my most loved hedgehog mug. This news would change the course of our future in the best way,” she wrote on Instagram earlier this month. “I started crying tears of pure joy and told my sweetheart husband that my test was positive.”

She continued, “It is such a blessing knowing that this tiny person has chosen us as parents. Our baby Wildlife Warrior is going to be so very loved by our families and entire Australia Zoo team. I can’t wait to find out what this amazing new soul loves in life, and experience the world all over again through their eyes.”
