Former NFL Quarterback Philip Rivers Welcomes Baby No. 10
Former NFL star Philip Rivers has enough kids for his own football team now!
The 41-year-old former Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Chargers quarterback and his wife Tiffany announced the arrival of their son Andrew Joseph Rivers (8 pounds, 10 ounces, 22 inches) on AL.com. earlier this month.
“It’s awesome. Tiffany is awesome,” Rivers told the outlet. “It doesn’t matter if it’s the first child or the 10th child. It’s an awesome miracle every time. Everyone is home now, and everyone is good.”
The couple first shared the exciting news that he and his wife Tiffany were expecting their tenth baby together on July 14. “We’ve had one pretty much every two years, and now this is the longest gap,” he shared with AL.com. The couple’s new addition will arrive sometime in the fall and will be another boy. “We are all fired up. Everyone was pulling for a boy. Even our girls wanted a boy,” Rivers shared.
Rivers whose mother comes from a family of nine children and her father also comes from a family of nine, believed that nine kids would be the couple’s sweet spot. “We thought we would be the third generation of nine, but we decided to go double-digits – or I should say we didn’t decide it. God decided,” he said.
The Rivers currently have seven girls and two boys ranging in age from 4 to 21. Gunner, Philip’s oldest son, will be the starting quarterback this season at St. Michael Catholic, the Alabama high school Rivers now coaches football at since his retirement.
