Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews Welcome Baby Boy
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Matthews have officially welcomed their first baby boy into the world!
In a joint Instagram post made late Monday evening, the couple shared their happy news with the world. The adorable little legs and feet of their new arrival are pictured in a brown and white onesie on top of a brown blanket that reads Mahomes. Below lies a chain with the words “Bronze” encrusted in jewels. “Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes III. 11/28/22 7lbs 8oz,” the proud mom and dad simply captioned the post.
While Patrick is a Mahomes family name passed down from father to son, meaning “noble,” the baby’s unique middle name, “Bronze,” continues to capture attention—even Mahomes’ younger brother Jackson commented, “BRONZE” on the photo. Fans speculate that the name is likely part of a common theme as the Mahomes previously named their 20-month-old daughter Sterling.
The Mahomes’ previously announced that they were expecting a boy in a video posted to Instagram. The colorful montage documented their sex reveal party, with each party attendee taking their guesses as to whether baby number two would be a boy or girl. While some guests were boldly on team girl, Dad and Mom were both correct in their guesses for a boy, with Mahomes playfully answering “guaranteed boy” when asked for his guess.
Mahomes and Matthews initially shared their big news on May 29 with a sweet family picture captioned “Round 2.” In the photo, daughter Sterling Skye holds a simple letter board sign with the words “Big sister duties. Coming Soon.” Among a flurry of comments, fellow football players and new and expecting fathers Mitchell Trubisky and Michael Burton congratulated Mahomes, saying “Awesome” and “Congrats, Bro.”
The fit and famous couple’s baby news came just two months after they got married in Hawaii following their initial engagement in September 2020. The high school sweethearts met while attending Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas.
Our congratulations to the new family of four!
