Bath toys are your saving grace when you have a bath time-resistant child. But you might want to take a closer look at the toys you’re using; Munchkin is recalling its Waterpede children’s bath toys because of a choking hazard.
The colorful centipede-shaped toy, intended for ages 6 months and older, allows babies and toddlers to scoop water from the top and watch it flow through four different chambers to the bottom, moving tumble beads and a spinner along the way. While it has a one-piece design, Munchkin has received one report of the plastic breaking apart, exposing small beads. Because of the choking hazard this poses, Munchkin voluntarily recalled about 72,000 of the products.
If you have this toy, contact Munchkin at 877-242-3134 or at Munchkin.com for a replacement toy. And keep in mind that all bath toys need to be closely monitored. Rubber duckies are cute—but they’re also mold traps.
