Ms. Rachel Stands Up to Body Shamers in New Video
Ms. Rachel is back with another important lesson—one that lies a little outside her typical Pre-K curriculum.
Known for her amazing YouTube videos for littles and exciting collaborations with everyone from Blippi to the global nonprofit Save The Children, Rachel Griffin-Accurso, known across the world as Ms. Rachel, is using her talents to make a big difference. But despite all of her fantastic work, critics still find it necessary to give their unsolicited opinions, most recently on her weight.
In a video posted last week, Accurso clapped back at body shamers. In the video, Accurso can be seen presumably working on her second Master’s degree as text flashes up on the screen saying, “Finishing my second masters in education while someone comments I’ve gained weight and should lose weight and try to be prettier if I’m going to have a show teaching toddlers.”
In the caption, the preschool teacher and international kid’s superstar shared that this was indeed a real comment that she received and that she has “better qualifications to teach than being thin and pretty. And that’s not where my value is!“
Parents and fans sounded off in the comments in support of their favorite teacher. “Nobody speaks to my digital co-parent like that,” wrote one user. “Ms. Rachel looks damn good for someone that has 30 million plus kids,” joked another. “We tolerate zero Ms Rachel slander. You’re an angel on earth!” influencer Renee Paquette said.
Many spoke up about how Accurso taking a stand not only was a powerful statement against her critics but also a powerful example for the next generation. “You’re now a core memory for a generation of children, you win,” wrote one user.
Our applause to Ms. Rachel for leading the way with her actions on and off screen!
