Flight Turns Around After Mom Reportedly Forgot Baby at Airport
No, this is not Home Alone 4; this is real life.
A Saudi Arabia flight was forced to turn around when a mother told crew members she forgot her baby in the terminal, according to Gulf News. The passenger was onboard a Saudi flight from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia when she realized her baby wasn’t on the flight with her.
A video from the flight has quickly gone viral, capturing the pilot’s request to return to King Abdul Aziz International Airport. Featuring a mixture of Arabic and English, air traffic control staff is completely baffled by the turn of events. After the pilot confirms he has a passenger refusing to continue the flight because her baby is in the terminal, the staff allow the plane to make an immediate return.
“This is totally a new one for us,” one of the air traffic control agents says, according to INSIDER.
Although the YouTube video implies the woman forgot her baby in the terminal, Twitter user Fahad M. Al Barrak says the mother actually left her baby with her sister, who had boarded the wrong bus at the airport.
Regardless of the details, thanks to the compassionate staff who decided to make an emergency landing—which is extremely rare—the poor, frantic mother was able to reunite with her baby.
