Model Wears Hidden Breast Pump at London Fashion Show
Breastfeeding is a special time many new moms cherish. But working moms and moms who are constantly on the run will quickly learn pumping waits for no one.
Model and mom Valeria Garcia made a statement at London Fashion Week, where she was accompanied by an unconventional runway accessory: Her breast pump.
“We launched our latest innovation Elvie Pump at London Fashion Week today! Model and mum of two Valeria sported Elvie Pump under her blazer jacket throughout @martajakubowski SS19 show to reveal she was wearing Elvie Pump the whole time,” the Elvie Instagram account shares.
Garcia walked the Marta Jakubowski fashion show, where she strutted down the runway wearing a black blazer and pant suit. Under the sports jacket, the model revealed her black bra, where the cups of a breast pump could be seen.
The newly-launched Elvie Pump boasts itself as “the world’s first silent, wearable breast pump.” The app-controlled pump is easy to take on the go, and fits into a nursing bra, creating a hands-free experience for nursing moms.
Many were quick to applaud the designer and company, and took to the Elvie Instagram to share their praise.
“Beautiful, discreet, modern. Exactly what we have come to expect from Elvie. Brava,” exclaims one comment.
“Such a smart idea! Would have come in so handy,” says another.
“Wow, that is so amazing” a follower simply states.
Lately, the runway has been pretty progressive in its representation of mothers. During New York Fashion Week, model Slick Woods took to the runway nine months pregnant, and later gave birth backstage.
