11-Time MLB All-Star Mike Trout and Wife Jessica Welcome Baby No. 2
MLB star Mike Trout has officially added another not-so-little one to his family’s lineup!
The injured Los Angeles Angels power hitter and his wife, Jessica Cox, shared the exciting arrival of their newborn on July 11. “Little brother is here! Beckham’s sidekick has arrived,” the couple captioned a photo of their 3-year-old son holding his new baby brother. “You fill our hearts with so much joy, Jordy Michael! God is so good.”
Jordy, a unique name of Hebrew origin, typically means 'down-flowing” and is commonly associated with tranquil rivers and majestic waterfalls. The name has also been associated with the Greek, Jordi, a Catalan version of the Greek name George, meaning “farmer.” Born June 30, Jordy came in at an above average 21 inches and a healthy 8lb 2oz.
The Trouts first revealed they were expecting baby no. 2 on Instagram on April 12. “Baby brother on deck,” the couple captioned a carousel of photos from their maternity shoot. In the images, Trout and his wife share their sonogram photos, and big brother Beckham smiles alongside Cox’s bump.
Friends and fans shared their excitement and well wishes for the soon-to-be family of four in the comments. “Another future MLB superstar on the way,” wrote one account. “Beckham’s face is priceless! He is going to rock at being a big brother,” added another. Several other MLB players, including Dexter Fowler, Todd Frazier and Randal Grichuk, sent their congratulations alongside the Angels organization.
Trout and Cox first welcomed son Beckham in July 2020. “Our greatest gift from above. We are so in love,” Trout captioned a swaddled photo of their newborn. The two met in high school before getting married in 2017.
Our best to the Trout family!
