Meteorologist Babywears Sleepy Son During Live Broadcast
Susie Martin, a meteorologist at Praedictix, was flaunting an unconventional accessory during one of her recent weather reports—her baby!
In a now-viral video, Martin appears in front of the camera babywearing her toddler. And despite how cool his mom’s job may be, her son was not at all impressed.
“Meteorologist Susie Martin and a special guest host your national forecast today. Unfortunately, her assistant was found sleeping on the job… We apologize for the inconvenience,” the Praedictix Facebook account jokes.
The mom to the adorable sleepyhead was sporting her son live for a good reason. “It is International Babywearing Week, so I thought I’d bring out my handy assistant today. He’s gonna help walk us through the forecast,” the meteorologist explains on air.
The week-long celebration is a tradition which began in 2008 to advocate for media attention to highlight the benefits of babywearing. This year’s festivities ran from Oct. 1 to 7.
Throughout the news segment, Martin flawlessly reports on the weather forecast, completely nailing the whole working mom thing. Her son was hilariously unphased over his TV appearance, and nodded off right as his mom’s report began.
In the short amount of time the video has gone live, it has already been shared nearly 12,000 times. Needless to say, people are loving the mother-son duo.
“This is my favorite forecast that’s ever been given. I love seeing women being professionals while mothering well,” one comment praises.
“I wish more employers were supportive of mothers and fathers! This is so, so wonderful,” another shares.
“I love that it shows that women can be mothers and do their jobs without ‘being distracted.’ So wonderful to see it normalized,” a message reads.
