Metallica Is Releasing a Children’s Book and Bedtime Stories Will Never Be the Same
Heavy metal fans are in for a treat. In an unexpected turn of events, Metallica announced plans to release a children’s book this fall.
The ABCs of Metallica will take a look at the history of the band, while featuring rhymes and illustrations. Each letter of the alphabet will highlight a pivotal moment from the band’s journey, as well as include fun facts about each member. Not only will the book school kids on the groundbreaking band, but a portion of the proceeds will go to All Within My Hands, the group’s nonprofit that supports workforce education and hunger prevention.
The book was co-authored by Howie Abrams with illustrations by Michael “Kaves” McLeer, who participated in Metallica’s Obey Your Master exhibit in 2012. While it won’t be available until November 26, you can pre-order the book and exclusive swag through the band’s merchandise store. Shirt and book bundles will make for great holiday gifts, and they’re available in toddler and adult assortments.
If you’re a longtime fan of heavy metal and have had a hard time getting your kiddo to feed into your obsession, don’t lose hope. Parents have until their youngsters hit double digits to influence their kid’s taste in music, so there’s still time. Plus, science says parents who listen to music with their children have better relationships overall. Sounds like a win-win!
