Marie Kondo Wants to Spark Joy in Your Kids With Her New Children’s Book
Japanese organizing consultant and author Marie Kondo has forever changed the way we look at decluttering our space. Though her ideology has been around for a while, Kondo’s method for sprucing up space has soared to new heights thanks to this year’s hit Netflix show Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. The tidying guru shows no signs of slowing down, and is setting her sights on a somewhat younger audience. Last week, Kondo announced she teamed up with author and illustrator Saline Yoon for the new children’s book, Kiki & Jax: The Life-Changing Magic of Friendship.
“It’s a timeless story about friendship, and I hope that the characters of Kiki and Jax will inspire children and families to tidy and embrace joy,” she writes on Instagram.
Inspired by Kondo’s KonMari Method, Kiki & Jax tells the story of two best friends who couldn’t be more different. Kiki is a collector and Jax is a sorter. They always have fun together, but when Kiki’s things start getting in the way, they have to figure out how to make room for what’s always sparked joy—their friendship.
The book won’t be available until November 5, but fans can pre-order it now.
