The Lindo Wing Is Reportedly Prepping for Meghan Markle's Delivery
It’s go time! Well, almost.
The Lindo Wing is running a tight ship as Meghan Markle’s due date draws closer. Staff of the famed wing at London’s St. Mary’s Hospital have been advised not to take time off in April, according to The Telegraph. Coincidentally, it’s also the month the Duchess of Sussex recently hinted to fans she would be giving birth.
“Staff at the Lindo Wing have been asked not to take holiday in April. Everyone thinks it’s got something to do with the royal baby, but no one is confirming anything,” a source tells The Telegraph.
The Lindo Wing is a posh birthing ward offering a dedicated hotel service team to provide a nutritious menu to cater to dietary habits and restrictions of each patient. Among a handful of special amenities, a celebratory champagne toast is also offered to new parents once baby arrives.
Lots of members of the Royal Family have welcomed babies on this wing. It’s where Kate Middleton gave birth to all three of her children, and Princess Diana welcomed both William and Harry there more than 30 years ago.
Back in December, there were talks Markle wouldn’t be following suit, and potentially even opting for a home birth, but the latest report seems to put those rumors to rest.
It’s still anyone’s guess whether Markle and Prince Harry will be giving birth to a boy or a girl. The pair reportedly doesn’t know the sex of baby, and want to be surprised. But if you ask the Duke, he’ll probably drop some hints revealing whether he’s hoping for a boy or girl.
