At 36 weeks pregnant, Lala Kent is eagerly anticipating the arrival of not just one baby, but two significant new additions to her life. In addition to preparing for her second child, her new show, Mama’s Still Got It: Prepping for Baby, will debut tomorrow, August 8.

Amidst all the excitement, The Bump caught up with the Vanderpump Rules star. A glowing Kent candidly discussed the challenges of her second pregnancy, her excitement and anxiety over becoming a single mom of two and what exciting things people can expect from her new show.

“My last pregnancy, I felt great, but mentally I was freaking out because we were worried about the baby. Whereas this time, baby’s really thriving and mom’s kind of like, whoa, this is a lot,” Kent explained. “Honestly, this pregnancy has kicked my butt!”

Like many mothers experiencing a challenging pregnancy, Kent’s excitement to evict Baby S is tempered with anxiety about the one-to-two kids transition. “I have days where I’m so excited, I can’t wait to meet her, and other days it sinks in that I’m going to have two kids and it’s like, ‘Oh my gosh! We’re four weeks out from giving birth, and I go through waves of ‘What have I done?’ and ‘I can’t wait,” she said

“When I talk to people about what to expect with the second baby, they tell me, ‘It’s a huge change, but also fleeting. All of the moments you feel like you can’t get through when you’re exhausted, it all comes to an end eventually.’ So I am very excited,” Kent added.

Kent is equally enthusiastic about the debut of her new two-part series Mama’s Still Got It: Prepping for Baby on Amazon Live and Freevee TV. “I’m excited for people to see a side of me that I haven’t been able to show on Vanderpump Rules,” Kent said. “I get to share pretty much the largest part of my life—my experience as a mother. Many of my [VPR] cast members haven’t been around my kid much, except for Scheana. But my guests on this show from Michelle Lally to Jenna Willis, know Ocean front to back like I do, and they’ve experienced so much with me, they make motherhood really come to life on this channel.”

“This is a part of my life that’s so special and so sacred, and I feel like I have such a bond with other moms, which I never thought would happen. I’m like, ‘I bond over shoes and skincare,’ then suddenly it’s like, ‘Whoa, we’re bonding over babies. I did not see this coming,’” Kent said. “I always thought I was going to be the mom that was like, ‘I care about my kid, but I don’t want to talk about kids.’ I’m not that mom. I’m like, ‘let’s talk about it all.’”

Part one of the two-part series will give fans an inside look at Kent’s preparations for baby, focusing on her well-being—maintaining a fitness routine, meal prepping, beauty treatments and more. This includes navigating pregnancy as a single mom by choice. “I’ve learned that motherhood alone suits me well,” Kent adds. “Even when I had Ocean and was in a partnership, I was very territorial. I wanted to do it on my own. I didn’t want someone else’s input. I just felt like mama knows best.”

Despite her independence, Kent acknowledges the importance of support. “I’ve got everyone on deck. I’ll have a night nurse three days a week, and I’m prepared to increase that if necessary,” she said. “It takes a village to raise a child. So I’m taking full advantage of everyone around me, whether it’s my dearest friends, my brother or my mama. I’m like, ‘No one’s doing anything. This is the day that everyone can go back to work and have a life. Up until then, you’ll be at home helping me.’”

When discussing her labor and delivery plan, Kent also embraces a village approach with her mom at the helm. “I plan on having a party in the delivery room. During Ocean’s birth, we were limited due to the pandemic. This time, I’d love to have more visitors. If I could take my exact birth with Ocean and just redo it with this baby, it was flawless,” she added.

While the exact date of her new arrival is uncertain, one thing is for sure: Scheana Shay will be the first Vanderpump Rules castmate to meet Baby S. “She was the first person I told in person,” she said. “She knew what day I was being inseminated. She’s been there through all of the ups and downs of this pregnancy. So yeah, she’ll be the one that I call where I’m like, ‘I’m on my way.’”
