Soccer Stars Kristie Mewis and Sam Kerr Are Expecting First Baby

Another soccer superstar is surely on the way!

United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) player Kristie Mewis and Australian striker Sam Kerr shared they are expecting their first child together on November 18. “Mewis-Kerr baby coming 2025!” the engaged couple shared in a joint post on Instagram. In the announcement Kerr and Mewis show off their sonogram and Mewis’ growing bump in a series of sweet black-and-white photobooth images.

Teammate, fellow pro-athletes and friend shared their excitement for the happy couple in the comments. “Love you three,” chimed in Australian goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold. “Ahhhh congrats,” Swedish national team player Magdalena Eriksson wrote. “Baby baller incoming. Congratulations to you both,” commented the FIFA Women’s World Cup account. “Welcome to Baby FC, the best club in the world! Hope the pregnancy and your recovery continue to go smoothly,” added former Chelsea FC director Marina Granovskaia.

Mewis and Kerr announced their engagement in November 2023. The couple opened up about loving each other on the public stage and hoping that it inspires others to be out and proud in an interview with Gaffer in 2023.

“I think just being out and being two girls in love, I think if we can change one or two people’s lives and the way that they feel about each other and how comfortable they feel, then that means a lot to me,” Mewis told the outlet. “I love to share my relationship on social media. So I think if we can change the way one or two people feel about themselves, they can look at us and see that we’re happy and we’re trying to be as successful as we can and we’re an out gay couple. I think that that’s so important.”
