The Toddler Closet Organization Hacks You'll Wish You Knew Before
Despite their tiny frames, your toddler’s clothes can take up a lot of space and time. If you are tired of incessant folding or scrounging through drawers to find the matching pants to that one outfit, boy, do we have the solution for you.
In a now viral post, stay-at-home mom of two under two Keisha shares the easy and affordable closet organization hacks she wishes she would’ve known as a first-time mom. First up on the list, using shower curtain hooks to store matching sets. No more frantic searching for the matching pink pants to go with her favorite flower top, this hack saves time and space by storing the two together while also giving your little one a chance to pick out one of many already-coordinated outfits. Plus, you can get 44 round hooks for just $10.
That’s not the end of the shower hook’s usefulness, though. Next, Keisha grabs clear shower hooks from the dollar store along with mini mesh laundry bags and constructs hanging storage with space for all those clean little socks at the top and dirty ones at the bottom. After a week’s worth of use, simply unhook the bottom part and throw it in the laundry. No more lost socks, no more scrounging for a pair as you’re ready to walk out of the house.
The last hack works as a double whammy for planning out daycare outfits ahead of time or traveling. Simply take a over the door shoe organizer and pack each slot with a diaper, outfit of the day and any accessories. Hang over the door for easy grab-and-go outfits for the morning or fold the organizer in on itself and pack away in a suitcase for easy travel access.
In the comments, parents and people of all ages and life stages chimed in, thanking Keisha for sharing her hacks. “Omg this is genius! I loved the matching set hack but then you blew my mind with the sock organization,” wrote one parent. “Omg the sock one throwing the whole thing in the wash. That would save so many lost socks,” added another mom.
Despite all the best hacks, though, sometimes it’s just hard to stay organized and on it as a bust parent. “I wish I was this organized but I just throw it all in a drawer,” wrote a commenter. “Girl, I can’t say I’m not the same sometimes depending on the day,” Keisha candidly added. “I barely put away laundry as is right now I don’t need more work,” added another. “I totally feel you some weeks, I just get my kid’s clothes out of the dryer for them to wear every day,” Keisha wrote in response.
Whether you pride yourself in being a super-organized parent, find joy in just throwing those onesies in a drawer or are somewhere in between, a helpful hack is always appreciated.
