Katy Perry Reveals Why She’s Not Picking a Baby Name Just Yet
Katy Perry and fiancé Orlando Bloom have a few names picked out for their daughter, but they’re waiting on making the final decision until after they meet her.
In a recent interview on Mix 104.1’s Karson & Kennedy, the American Idol judge stated, “We have yet to decide specifically on her name because, I think, we’ve got options and she’ll tell us. I’ll look at her and go, ‘Oh yeah yeah, you are her, you are that.’”
While she’s taking life as it comes during 2020 and the pandemic, the singer is really excited to become a mom. Plus, with her sister and nieces living close by, Perry has had a lot of experiences with kids in the past few years.
“There are a lot of rules. I mean you start sacrificing. You start becoming a mother, or a parent, once you conceive. Definitely,” she said during the interview. “I’ve been every emotion under the sun. I’ve been overwhelmed, I’ve been anxious, I’ve been happy, I’ve been overjoyed, I’ve been depressed. I’ve been all of it. The world is just a wild time and it’s a wild time to bring life into the world.”
Perry, who has been a longtime advocate for mental health, also discussed how she’s been paying extra attention to her thoughts and emotions in recent months, using tools like meditation and conversations with friends to help her through the hard patches.
Perry announced her pregnancy back in March through the music video for her song “Never Worn White.” Bloom, who also shares a son, Flynn, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, is ecstatic to be a girl-dad, Perry noted. He’s been spending a lot of time with his nieces in quarantine, Perry stated in the interview, adding, “he’s really excited for a little girl. They say that little girls are, you know, daddy’s little girl, that’s how it’s gonna be, we’ll see!”
