Watch Kate Middleton’s Children Adorably Applaud Healthcare Workers
Healthcare workers are the true heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic—the people that are helping to put patient care as the first priority and doing it without always having the proper personal protective equipment (PPE). In countries all across the globe, people have taken to spending a few minutes each day standing on their balconies and in windows to create a sense of community and applaud healthcare workers—including in the UK. Now, Prince George and Louis, 6 and almost 2, and Princess Charlotte, 4, are joining, and it may just be the cutest thing you see today.
To help appreciate the healthcare workers and first responders on the front lines of this pandemic, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, released a video yesterday of their family joining the nationwide applause.
In the caption, the official Kensington Palace account wrote, “To all the doctors, nurses, carers, GPs, pharmacists, volunteers and other NHS staff working tirelessly to help those affected by #COVID19: thank you. #ClapForOurCarers #ClapForCarers #ThankYouNHS #ClapForNHS.”
Their followers definitely appreciate the cuteness, as one wrote, “Teaching them to be so thankful and good humans. Love the way Louis looks up at his big brother and then sister.” Another person commented, “Thank you from a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse in Australia. Stay safe everyone.”
The call to action asked all Britons to give a round of applause on March 26 (from front doors, balconies, back yards, windows, inside your houses, etc.) to show appreciation for all the healthcare professionals working hard to fight COVID-19.
The Royal family has been personally affected as Prince Charles, the children’s grandfather, tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week. A press release from Clarence House stated that while he has been displaying mild symptoms, he “otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual."
