Saints Tight End Juwan Johnson and Chanen Johnson Expecting Baby No. 2
After sharing their struggles with infertility, two heartbreaking miscarriages and, ultimately, the arrival of their first baby girl J’adore Blessing in July of last year—now nine months later, The Johnsons are expecting again.
New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson and his wife Chanen Johnson shared the exciting news of baby number two on social media late last week. Chanen originally posted a video of her emotional reaction to her positive pregnancy test with the caption “to be continued…”
Three days later, the popular TikTok couple released their official announcement video featuring Chanen in a bump-hugging red maxi, Juwan in a nude sweater with an embroidered heart and their daughter Blessing wearing a pink sweater that read “Big Sister” with sonogram photos in hand. The two simply captioned the video “A miracle.”
The Johnsons announced the arrival of their first daughter on July 12, 2023. “Our blessing, J’adore Blessing Johnson,” the couple captioned the Instagram video chronicling their labor and delivery journey. In the video, Chanan and Juwan prep for the hospital, fight through labor pains and ultimately cradle their newborn in their arms for the first time.
Shortly after sharing their heartwarming birth video, Juwan posted a photo of Chanen cradling their new addition. In the caption, he recounted their difficult path to parenthood, his admiration for his wife’s strength and his dedication to his faith.
“What a BLESSING! A doctor in college told her she could never have kids. That she wouldn’t be able to. A year ago having a pair of miscarriages. But I know something and someone who is bigger than this giant. God has never lost. Not ONCE. This girl right here his one of a kind and I’m grateful that I call her my wife,” Juwan wrote. “God gave this little girl and this is a testament of unwavering faith. Thank you Jesus. J’adore Blessing Johnson, welcome to this world princess! Daddy will alwayssss be there for you & mommy.”
Chanen candidly admitted that their long fertility journey came after she recovered from an eating disorder in college. After not menstruating for five years, she was told she wouldn’t be able to have children, but since getting healthy, she and Juwan had been trying.
In a video recapping 2022, the couple shared the many ups and downs of their journey, from getting the green light to start trying to mourning two pregnancy losses. Fans and TikTok users from all over the world reached out to the Johnsons, thanking them for sharing their story.
And then, on January 1, 2023, the Johnsons announced they were expecting. In a video following their announcement, Chanen captured the struggle of the previous year, along with images from their maternity photoshoot. “It does get better,” Chanen wrote.
Congratulations to the Johnsons on their soon-to-be family of four!
