The Jonas Brothers Share Their Unspoken Parenting Rule
After decades of performing together and the past few years spent as parents on the road, The Jonas Brothers know what it takes to keep the peace between family members in close quarters.
In a recent appearance on SiriusXM, the pop trio shared some of their best advice for keeping family drama at bay. “We really don’t give each other advice about family. It’s kind of an unspoken rule. We just do our own thing. Do it your way,” Kevin Jonas replied when asked if Joe and Nick Jonas reached out to their older brother for parenting advice.
Nick added that it’s been “a really healthy thing that we never really spoke about,” encouraging other siblings around the world to follow suit. “The last thing you want to hear from your siblings is how to parent your child,” he said. “I think we all sort of understand that and just say, ‘You do your thing. I’m just gonna show up and be Uncle Nick,’ and that’s how it goes.”
All three brothers are proud fathers to daughters. Kevin shares Alena, 9, and Valentina, 6, with his wife Danielle. Joe recently welcomed a newborn in July alongside daughter Willa, 2 and his wife Sophie Turner. The youngest, Nick and his wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas welcomed their daughter, Malti, via surrogate in January 2022.
The band’s newest record, “The Album,” is set to debut on May 12. The brothers spoke with TODAY about the release, with Nick calling it the “most quintessential Jonas Brothers” album. “I think this one does a good job of embodying kind of where we are as fathers, where we are as husbands and just brothers.”
