Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita Welcome Their Second Child
Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita officially welcomed their second child via surrogate on November 15.
The couple shared the happy news on Instagram yesterday. Ferguson and Mikita snapped a photo of their newest addition in an Empires onesie, an ode to Take Me Out, the Broadway show Ferguson is currently headlining.
“Sad to be away from my @takemeoutbway fam tonight, but we ran off to welcome our newest little one, Sullivan Louis Ferguson-Mikita,” Ferguson added in the caption. “A special thanks to @drshahinghadir for helping us grow our family & our incredible surrogate and all of the nurses and doctors. We are overjoyed to be a family of four.”
Sullivan, which is Gaelic in origin, means “dark eyes.” While it has spiked in popularity in recent years, it still remains relatively uncommon. While fans haven’t gotten a peek at baby boy Sullivan’s peepers yet, they are sure to be stunners!
Ferguson first announced that he and Mikita would be expanding their family in May. In a heartfelt video posted to Instagram, the Tony-award-winning actor talked about how excited he was that Beckett, 2, would be gaining a sibling in the fall and encouraged his fans to support charities close to his heart.
Mikita and Ferguson first met at a gym in the early days of Modern Family and started dating in 2010. Three years later, the pair were married in New York. They welcomed baby boy Beckett in 2020 via a surrogate and have been proud dads ever since.
Our congratulations to the growing family of four!
