IKEA Is Collaborating With LEGO for an Exciting New Fall Collection
IKEA and LEGO Group are joining forces to launch a pretty exciting new fall collection and playful storage solution: BYGGLEK.
The collaboration aims to encourage play and infuse more opportunities for fun into storage solutions around the home. The collection consists of a set of LEGO bricks ($15), as well as a series of storage boxes (up to $15), including one set of three small boxes and two larger boxes. All will have LEGO studs on the top and front, allowing children to incorporate the boxes as part of their LEGO creations. The boxes can also be connected to each other for larger builds. They can store their projects inside and display their LEGO builds on top.
The 201-piece LEGO brick set, suitable for ages 5 and up, includes play starters, such as food items and minifigures in various sizes and colors. The best part? The BYGGLEK collection can be used with any existing LEGO toys your child has at home.
“At IKEA, we believe in the power of play. Play lets us explore, experiment, dream, and discover,” Andreas Fredriksson, designer at IKEA of Sweden, said in a press release. “Where adults often see a mess, children see a stimulating, creative environment, and BYGGLEK will help bridge the gap between these two views to ensure more creative play in homes around the world. Plus, the BYGGLEK collection seamlessly fits in with other IKEA products, making it possible for your child’s creativity to become a unique piece of decor at home.”
Rasmus Buch Løgstrup, designer at the LEGO Group also said, “BYGGLEK is more than boxes. It is storage and play intertwined. BYGGLEK provides families with a product range that helps create space for more play in their everyday—fuelling creativity and making it possible to have more fun together. It’s a possibility to play, display the cool creations, and return to it to replay, remake, recreate or start over. BYGGLEK is all about endless possibilities, just like the LEGO System in Play.”
The BYGGLEK collection will be available at IKEA U.S. stores and online starting October 1, 2020.
