These Are the Happiest Places to Live in the US
Happiness comes from within. And where you live.
A new survey from WalletHub ranked 182 of the largest cities in the United States to discover which ones were the happiest places to live. The researchers looked at three key areas: emotional and physical wellbeing, income and employment, and community and environment. These three categories were then evaluated using more than 30 different key indicators, like depression rates, job satisfaction, divorce rates and more.

California did pretty well for itself, making up half of the top 10 happiest cities. It is The Golden State, after all, and a couple of cities there have the lowest separation and divorce rates. Additionally, San Francisco has the highest income growth and Irvine, CA has the second-highest sports participation rate—two elements which play important roles in boosting morale.
While cities from Florida may not have rounded out the top 10 happiest cities, they do hold a few coveted spots on the ranking as a whole. The low depression statistics probably have something to do with it, where four of its cities are tied for first as having the lowest depression rates.
