Why Guava Roam Strollers Are Being Recalled
Guava Family has issued a voluntary recall of more than 8,000 of its Guava Roam strollers. Here’s what you need to know.
Why are the Guava Roam Strollers being recalled?
Guava Family has identified an issue with Guava Roam strollers’ braking system. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the stroller’s brakes can fail to engage or unexpectedly disengage, posing fall and injury hazards to children. Guava Family has received 67 reports of the brake lock disengaging and 152 reports of the brake pedal not engaging when pushed down. No injuries have been reported.
How do I know if my product is affected by the recall?
The recall only affects first-generation Guava Roam Strollers manufactured between July 2020 and December 2021 with the model number 2205000. They have a black frame with the “Guava” logo in gray on the frame. The seat, canopy and storage compartment are black. You can find your stroller’s model number and date of manufacture on the black label on the crossbar below the seat.
What should I do if my product is recalled?
The good news is parents won’t have to throw out their recalled Guava Ram Strollers. Guava Family is happy to provide parents with a free Roam Frame Assembly Kit that will quickly get them moving again. Until then, Guava Family recommends parents with affected Guava Roam strollers stop using affected strollers. You can fill out a simple form to request your replacement seat and find out more about the recall at GuavaFamily.com.
