Reality TV Duo Giannina Gibelli & Blake Horstmann Welcome Baby Boy
Giannina Gibelli and Blake Horstmann have given us the reality tv crossover we didn’t know we needed—a Love is Blind and Bachelorette baby!
The first season Love is Blind star and the season 14 Bachelorette contestant shared the arrival of their son on April 2. “His first breath took ours away,” Gibelli captioned a photo of her newborn in her arms. “Met Heath Orion Horstmann born on Good Friday 3/29/24. Everyone is home happy and healthy — his pregnancy and birth were a dream come true. Our lives are brighter, fuller, and forever better. thank you for all of the love and well wishes, Heath has so many people who love him 💫 we’re parents!”
The couple had picked out the name Heath ahead of time but told US Weekly they knew they had the right name as soon as they met their son. “We wanted his name to feel unique and meaningful, it’s a name that’s grounded in nature and his middle name is connected to strength, bravery and adventure,” Gibelli said. ” As soon as we said the name out loud we looked at each other and just knew that was it.”
Like many moms, Gibelli also had a birth plan but had to adjust when it came time for the big arrival. “I was very receptive to whatever would present itself. I had to pivot from a fully unmedicated birth due to how my body was reacting and I was still able to have the delivery I always wanted while taking control of the situation and advocating for myself every step of the way,” she told the outlet. “I caught my baby, Blake cut the chord, it was the coolest, most empowering and most badass thing I’ve done in my entire life.”
Horstmann and Gibelli first announced the sex of their first baby together on February 15 on Amazon Live by holding up a blue onesie. But before sharing the news with the world, the couple took part in an intimate cake-cutting reveal with family and friends.
The reality TV duo shared the emotional video with the simple caption, “He has had our hearts since day one.” In the video, Gibelli and Horstmann slowly cut into the cake, getting more and more excited as the cake’s interior color came to light. As they lifted the piece with blue icing out of the cake, Gibelli cried tears of happiness, and the new dad-to-be screamed while punching a fist into the air.
“We didn’t think it was gonna be a boy. Neither of us,” Horstmann shared on Amazon. “I thought I was gonna be a girl dad. I thought for sure it was gonna be a girl. I don’t know why.” Gibelli chimed in that she also “thought it was a girl the entire time. Literally,” noting that the couple would “have a girl later.”
“Little dude. A little dude. The Horstmann name lives on,” excited noted Horstmann. “I’m so excited. He’s made me feel so good. He loves his mama. I can’t believe I can say ‘he,’” added Gibelli.
The parents-to-be first told friends and fans they were expecting on November 14. “First comes love, then comes baby H. We’re so grateful that life has led us here and over the moon to be parents to our sweet baby come spring 2024,” the couple captioned their intimate maternity photos. Gibelli and Horstman don warm and inviting neutral looks in the photos as the mom-to-be shows off her bump in a simple button-up and long skirt.
Reality TV celebrities like Snooki from Jersey Shore and costars from each of their respective shows sent their congratulations to the happy couple in the comments. “Why did this make me tear up! Soo happy for you both,” wrote Love is Blind season two favorite Deepti Vempati. “I am so damn happy for you two, love you guys! Congratulations!!,” added Bachelorette contestant Jason Tartrik.
The couple began dating in January 2022 on the set of the competition series All Star Shore. Months later, Gibelli opened up about the relationship, telling E! News, “I’ve never watched the Bachelor franchise or any of that so I didn’t know who he was. He seemed familiar to me and he just flashed his big ol’ smile at me and that’s how I met him right on the beach.”
Our congratulations to Gibelli and Horstman as they begin their journey to parenthood!
